The Peterson sentence

Some guy out in California named Peterson committed a murder, I'm led to believe. He said he was fishing, but a jury found him guilty of murdering his lovely wife and their unborn child. I think he stabbed her.
Anyways, the trial is over now and they agreed that this Peterson guy should receive the death penalty.

This is a horrible crime but justice is not being served.

While Peterson now goes to death row, the American people have been sentenced to endless media coverage on this terrible murder and its consequences. What's worse, CNN television reports that California death row inmates wait an average of 20 years before their sentence is meted out.

That means we get 20 years of endless media coverage of Peterson's appeals and the sordid details of his incarceration. This is insufferable and the media should use its valuable time to inform the American people of the Global War on Terrorism and other important matters. For instance, many people don't know that many useful things are being achieved in Iraq. There is a national election that is scheduled to take place next month.

PMB, it may surprise you (maybe not) but I don't believe in state sponsored executions.

Lock this dirtball up. A life spent in prison is way worse than the blessed succor of death anyway.

That's quite an unpopular opinion you have there in this current climate, Swiftee.
I'm inclined to agree with you. Of course, crimes against the State are a different matter, imho. If they catch OBL I want his lights snuffed out after his trial.

How do you feel about the continual punishment the MSM metes out against us with their continual coverage of Peterson and lowlifes like him? Haven't people got rights to be free of such stories? Sure, we can be free by turning our sets off. But isn't that a bit EXTREME?

I really don't understand all of the pres coverage Peterson got. What he did was terrible, but shit like that happens every day in our guilt free society.

I think that if OBL resists he should die rather than risk his escape, but if he is captured I wouldn't condone even his execution.

I don't think we have the right to take anyone's life unless there is no alternative and the safety of others is in danger.

Besides, I think a life in prison, deprived of all liberty is worse than death.
