Absent from my blog

Sorry people. I've been doing a lot of yard work. I've got the gardens just about all planted. I'm shooting for a boffo tomato crop this summer. I hear Bogus Gold writes about raising tomato plants. I'll have to search that out.
But I've also been missing here because I've been arguing with the anti-war crowd in BowieNet's Politics and Religion forum. It's the debate that never ends. Isn't it amazing that we are still trying to convince the anti-war crowd that invading Iraq was the right thing to do?

But then on the other hand, we'll prolly still be arguing the smoking ban in bars and restaurants long after the entire Middle East region is fully democratized.

Stay tuned to this blog please. I swear I'll be updating this weekend.

Yes, some people just won't let the smoking ban alone. I find their newfound compassion for "waitresses and bartenders" livelihoods interesting -- they seem to care less how many bar and restaurant workers (and owners) get sick or die due to years of exposure to secondhand smoke, but they are happy to endlessly repeat every little unproven economic horror story the bar bosses feed them.

Want to see a REAL horror story? See the life get slowly strangled out of a former smoker with COPD, as I have seen. It's a slow, painful way to go, and about 80% of the cases are related to smoking.

On a happier note, we too have been busy with household projects and a new addition to the Moffitt family -- Bobby, a 4-yr.-old beagle-Jack Russell mix. He's our first pet in 21 years of life on the road.

*sigh* Bob misses the important point of another post.

Yes I DO write about tomato gardening. To much derision and occasional appreciation.

Feel free to start here. Also feel free to hit me up for leftover heirloom plants needing a home after this weekend.
